The site medical commodities officer will support the Health Manager in managing all medical commodities related issues in the site. Medical commodities officer will spend at least 50% of his/her time in the field. The essential duties for this position will be as following:
Work in coordination with medical officers and field medical officers to follow up with commodities related issues (storage standards, records keeping, consumption reports, monthly drug needs, medical equipment needs and maintaining, lab needs, avoid stock outs for essential medications and supplies, monitor reception)in the site’s health facilities.
Work in coordination with medical commodities manager and warehouse pharmacists to facilitate the planning of the monthly shipments and create the proper medical requisitions and monitor the reception of requested items.
Ensure monthly consumption reports from health facilities and analyze results by working together with the medical officers, in order to determine and customize supply of medical commodities based on actual needs of health facilities.
Monitor the accuracy of the consumption reports by double checking with the records (stock cards and bin cards) in the health facilities.
Ensure stock registers, stock cards and bin cards are available, being used and updated at each health facility
Create timely medical requisitions to cover the monthly health facilities’ needs.
Assess medical equipment status and needs in the health facilities on regular basis.
Ensure updated medical inventory for the health facilities being supported by the site office
Ensure the implementation of pharmacies and medical warehouses standards are being applied in the health facilities pharmacies and medical warehouses.
Attend field medical officers’ monthly meetings and get the updates from all health facilities and medical warehouses and follow up for all needed issues.
Schedule regular field visits on monthly basis, submit a monthly field visit plan and provide report within a week following field visit
Monitor site’s medical warehouses and that include (stock analyzing, expiry dates tracking, record keeping)
Work in coordination with logistics in the site to facilitate accuracy of documentation and tracking of timely deliveries to health facilities
Monitor reception of medical shipments by health facility.
Ensure the availability of all essential medications in all supported health facilities and avoid stock outs.
Provide on-the-job training and coach and supervise the work of other medical and program officers in the medical office as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have at least 1 to 2 years’ experience working with pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
Must have experience with ordering and tracking medical procurements
Must be able to analyze and interpret data and to track performance against program indicators
Must be fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
Must be skilled in Microsoft Office specially MS Excel and Word
Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Must have the ability to work effectively with various personalities and cultures
Must have valid residency in Turkey
