Sened is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2013 and registered in Turkey with No. 27-15-175; It arose in response to the suffering of Syrian refugees in Turkey & internally displaced persons in Syria as a result of the war waged by the Syrian regime on its own people and torn apart the entire country. Sened works through the humanitarian work sectors to empower persons with disabilities, their families and communities, advocate for their issues and include their voice in their communities. Sened has become a specialized NGO in the field of working with persons with disabilities and their families since 2015. It takes the aspirations of the founders, persons with disabilities and their families, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) as a compass for its work.
Job Purpose
Follow the protection activities in Turkey, supervise Turkey protection and education project’s staff, and be a part of grant team to prepare new project proposals.
Key Activities/Tasks/Duties
- Supervise the case management team to plan and implement individual protection assistance activities through assessment, case planning, case implementation, follow up and case closure through regular case committee meetings.
- Work with the team in the organization and externally to identify and register individual cases requiring protection intervention in the field and/or through community center visit,
- Undertaking rapid and detailed assessments of beneficiaries,
- Follow up individual protection cases and cases follow up until case closure.
- Accompanying beneficiaries for referrals etc. if necessary
- Assisting the Senior Protection Officer for project reports.
- Support to record registered cases in the database in a timely manner and update information as necessary and ensure that progress is updated in the database,
- Ensuring accurate, timely and secure data entry of all the cases.
- Follow up the implementation of outreach for information dissemination in regular and innovative ways.
- Contribute to project strategies and to program development in protection sector.
- Support and promote the standards outlined in the Code of Conduct and associated policies to project team.
- Representing organization when needed professionally
- Attending case management group meetings in inter-agency level
- Supervising the staff working in protection team inside Turkey, plan/follow-up project activities,
- Organize monthly/weekly/daily meetings, follow-up projects workplan/indicator and report the progression to Project Manager
- Advise the team on the project implementation,
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Establish and maintain good relations with key government stakeholders in the implementation area.
- Ensure that centers provide and consistently maintain a safe environment for project participants. Maintain good relations with children, the parents/caregivers and staff,
- Build an effective team approach ensuring project staff are working together effectively.
M&E Related Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality of project database and prevent duplications.
- Prepare and update project risk analysis monthly according to updated project database and project progression.
- Contribute for drafting an information management system to be used for protection programs of SENED.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Coordination with logistic team for procurement plan of projects inside Turkey.
- Distribute tasks among the team for the preparation of purchase requests and service requests according to needs and budget of project, and follow-up ongoing works
- Follow up with logistic team for project assets and staff assets
Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):
Essential
- BA Degree in Education, Psychology, or any other relevant field.
- Advanced skills in the English language.
- Fluency either in Arabic or Turkish.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a similar position.
- Turkish Nationality is a must.
Desirable
- Verified experience in humanitarian work and principles.
- MA Degree in Education, Psychology, or any other relevant field.
