LOOKING FOR FINANCE OFFICER WITH A PASSION FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

We are currently seeking a Finance Officer for multiyear disaster risk reduction programs in Gaziantep, Türkiye/Turkey.
Location: The position will be based in Gaziantep.
Some of the central responsibilities of this position are:
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily program accounting and finance functions including the timely recording of transactions, cash management, banking, payroll, inventory, receivables, and payables.
- Maintain banking relations and plan and monitor cash flow requirements to ensure the smooth implementation of Miyamoto International programs.
- Provide monthly standard accounting submissions to Miyamoto U.S. offices, including general ledger files, account reconciliations, expenditures by cost center/project, required subgrantee reporting, as well as other financial information in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop annual fiscal year budget for project office in coordination with the project director and implement grant budgeting and forecasting systems.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely and accurate payment of taxes.
- Perform internal audits and reviews as required to ensure compliance with Miyamoto and donor requirements.
- Effectively stay abreast of donor policies, procedures, rules and regulations; compile and update applicable local policies.
- Review and monitor partners’ financial reporting and compliance. Provide additional technical assistance to partners as necessary to maintain high standards of compliance.
- Ensure compliance with Miyamoto International’ procurement policies and procedures for all goods and services.
- Develop and maintain local office policies and procedures and provide training for all issues related to local financial matters.
- Any other duties assigned by Project Director, Sr. Finance Manager or Miyamoto’s Corporate Finance team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum three-year university diploma in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Management from a recognized institution.
- Fluency in English required.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as an administrative, finance officer, or equivalent required.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and other software programs strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting and business information systems software highly desirable.
- Experience working with financial and accounting information in a time-sensitive, confidential, and dynamic environment. Comfort with moderately complex financial situations preferable.
- Be a tactful and effective communicator, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures, as well as the ability to apply them with consistency in a variety of circumstances.
- Ability to organize and effectively process and maintain records and files.
- Ability to function independently and carry out routine responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Experience with USAID and USG-funded regulations highly advantageous.
