Since then, HORAN FOUNDATION has developed to become one of the largest organizations supporting the Syrian people, through the implementation of 350 projects that helped the lives of more than 10 million beneficiaries throughout the Syrian territory and neighboring countries asylum, and also contributed to the establishment of the Platform of Syrian Associations (Minber Suriye), one of the most important coordination platforms for humanitarian workers in the Syrian affairs. It has a membership of the NGO Forum and membership in Syrian Networks and membership in the Forum for the Voice of the Displaced Syrians.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics and Procurement Assistant to join our team. The role will primarily focus on providing support in logistics coordination, procurement activities, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the procurement process, including preparing purchase requisitions, obtaining quotes, and conducting vendor evaluations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing items.
- Assist in conducting periodic physical inventory checks and reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of procurement reports, including purchase orders, contracts, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist in the evaluation of suppliers and vendors based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
- Assist in negotiating prices and contracts with suppliers to obtain favorable terms.
- Coordinate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications.
- Assist in maintaining good relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely payment, and addressing any issues or concerns.
- Assist in managing logistics and transportation arrangements for goods and equipment.
- Support the implementation and improvement of logistics and procurement processes and systems.
- Stay updated with market trends and changes in procurement regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience (1-2 years) in logistics, procurement, or supply chain management is desirable.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
- Good knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on procurement and inventory information.
- Knowledge of logistics and transportation processes is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
