Brief description of HIH:
Hand in Hand for Aid and Development (HIHFAD), previously operating as Hand in Hand for Syria, was established as a UK registered charity soon after the start of the Syrian crisis in 2011 by a group of British Syrians in order to deliver humanitarian assistance to civilians impacted by the conflict in Syria. From humble beginnings the charity has grown to become one of the leading humanitarian actors serving Syrian communities both inside Syria and in neighbouring countries, employing over 1000 staff in Syria, Turkey and the UK. As the organization grows, it now handles multiple institutional donors such as UN, International NGOs and bilateral governmental agencies.
Purpose of the Training:
The Trainer/Expert will conduct a 10-days GBV Training” that will focus on bridging the gaps for staff about GBV.
Technical assurance and guidance based on experiences and skills of a GBV consultant are critical to implementing all intervention in a safe and accountable manner. The consultant will also contribute to the works to mainstream and develop SOPs.
Scopes of the consultancy:
- linked directly to the Programs activities and capacity building.
- Conduct assessment for all organization staff about GBV to increase their knowledge.
- Develop HIHFAD GBV Policies.
- Review and develop GBV SOPs.
Final Deliverables:
The consultant shall deliver the following:
- Provide Recorded Orientation session to HIHFAD staff about GBV.
- Provide Supervision and comprehensive sessions to grant and programs staff in turkey to mainstream GBV in all programs.
- Build HIHFAD structure about GBV including SOPs and Policy.
- Design the main activities for the GBV for protection intervention in prevention and response.
Knowledge and Qualifications:

The submitted applications will be evaluated 30% depending on the financial proposal and 70% depending on the selection criteria as the following:
- Over 5 years experiences in GBV and field level experiences (30%).
- Strong skills in providing training (20%).
- Solid knowledge on designing SOPs (20%).
