A. Lead in the establishment of the WH PSS Unit
Support in the PSS needs assessment
Lead the development of policy, procedures, and the PSS toolkit
Compile qualified PSS specialists onto the PSS roster to be on-call for individual PSS sessions.
Develop the reporting structure and templates.
B. Manage the WH PSS Unit
The PSS lead will directly manage two PSS workers that will support the listed goals of the PSS unit.
Ensure that set outcomes are reached by the determined timeline.
Management of the PSS roster and organizing sessions for staff and volunteers based on requests.
Determine the necessary resources for setting up and running the unit. This includes budgeting, identifying funding sources, securing physical space, and acquiring essential equipment and materials.
C. Coordination and Implementation of WH PSS Unit activities
Implementing the day-to-day PSS activities including coordinating PSS roster for individual sessions, planning for psychoeducation sessions, and continuously improving PSS programs for staff and volunteers.
Coordinating with relevant departments or partners to ensure smooth program execution.
Providing technical guidance and support to PSS workers.
Ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and standards in psychosocial support.
D. Capacity Building and Training
Identifying training needs and organizing capacity-building initiatives for staff and volunteers.
Developing educational materials and conducting psychoeducation sessions.
Note: the above-mentioned responsibilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department's organizational chart or title.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
A.Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, counselling, social work, or a related field is typically required - 4 Years’ experience in related filed. - Native Arabic, very good level in English.
B. Desirable:
- Mastes’s Degree in in psychology, counselling, social work, or a related field is typically required - 5 Years’ experience in related filed. - Native Arabic, advance level in English.

- Knowledge of Psychosocial Concepts: A solid understanding of psychosocial principles, theories, and evidence-based practices is essential. This includes knowledge of mental health, emotional well-being, psychosocial interventions, trauma, grief, and other relevant areas.
- Resolving conflicts.
- Clinical Expertise: such as counselling or therapy
- Experience in networking, partnership building, and advocating for the psychosocial support unit.
