LOOKING FOR A PROGRAM MANAGER WITH A PASSION FOR HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE

We work with governments, international development banks, including The World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, UN agencies, NGOs and other international development and humanitarian assistance partners to help communities build resilience to natural disasters.
We are seeking a full-time Program Manager for our Earthquake Response, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Activities portfolio in Turkey and Northwest Syria. Miyamoto’s Turkey / Syria, earthquake response portfolio, includes various donor-funded projects in earthquake-affected areas in Turkey and Syria. The projects include:
- Rapid and sustainable shelter solutions that accelerate the safe return home of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and early recovery of affected communities.
- Design and implement effective communication campaigns aimed at promoting the reoccupation of undamaged structures.
- Design and implementation of repairability and cost quantification assessments for lightly damaged and rapidly repairable structures.
- Dissemination of building repair and best practices guidelines.
- Rapid repair construction of example buildings in select districts.
- Implementation of a communication campaign to the affected population.
- Dissemination of information on cost-effective and safe repair methodologies.
- Transfer of approaches and tools to promote rapid and sustainable housing recovery solutions as an effective individual, community, and economic recovery strategies.
The Program Manager will be based in Gaziantep, Turkey, and deployed as the overall humanitarian response lead for the Turkey / Syria earthquake response portfolio. The manager will ensure that all projects are implemented on time, cost and scope in line with Miyamoto’s standard operating procedures and as per donors’ requirements. Some of the main responsibilities of this full-time position will include:
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide overall project management and oversight across project functions, including staff management, finance, operations.
- Ensure quality control and timelines of all interventions and deliverables, including coordination with Miyamoto’s International Development teams on program and technical activities.
- Coordinate with and effectively engage local government stakeholders while executing representational and relationship management duties with donors and other international and national stakeholders.
- Communicate frequently, proactively, and openly with Miyamoto International and local implementing partner(s) on programming and implementation status, including raising and troubleshooting challenges.
- Maintain codes of conduct and other international donor regulations. Ensure fundamental elements of the safety and security plans are understood and executed, including basic training for all project staff.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline. (e.g. construction, shelter, engineering)
- 6 / 7 years of experience in all aspects of the project and program management
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to lead regular, structured meetings and share minutes / action points.
- Ability to monitor progress against plans and take corrective action or escalate issues to ensure projects stay on track.
- Proficient in the development and management of budgets using excel.
- Self-starter who can manage a varied workload with minimum supervision under tight deadlines. Strong ability to foster teamwork and work collaboratively.
- Experience with field work in post-disaster environment
- Solid understanding of USAID-funded projects.
- Fluent in English with a solid ability to write clear and concise reports.
- An understanding of Turkish is an asset.
