In close liaison with all program and operational staff as well as the whole procurement team and under the supervision of the Procurement Officers assist the effective procurement of goods and services to ensure smooth program activities in accordance with IMC rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
· Under the supervision of the Procurement Officers assists in the procurement of goods and services in a timely manner an in line with IMC and donor regulations as well as under close observation of IMC’s code of conduct
· Under close liaison with Procurement Officer as well as the respective requestor, ensures that all procurements are conducted with the best cost-performance ratio available locally and/or nation wide
· Provides samples of requested goods or takes requestor to the respective vendor to check on quality of available goods according to IMC rules and regulations
· In sole discretion of the Procurement Manager ensure the regular update of IMC’s Procurement Tracking Sheet and shares it with Program as well as provides updates on the status of procurements whenever requested
· Assist in maintaining of up-to-date vendor catalogues and immediately informs the Procurement Officer and the Logistics Manager about any changes
· Ensures that all procured items are delivered in a timely manner to the respective warehouses if not specified otherwise on the PR or if not included in the following list
· Assists in the filing of procurement related documents according to IMC rules and regulations
· Undertakes constant communication with program and operational staff to ensure that procured items match with the requested quality and specification
· Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.
· Other duties as required and deemed appropriate
Knowledge and Experience:
· In possession of Turkish ID or residence permit and valid passport (or similar recognized ID)
· Good planning capabilities and good ability to solve tasks in a logical and organized manner
· Experience in procurement or general logistics operations; experience in NGOs is a plus
· Ability to multitask, think creatively, plan ahead, and work with little supervision in an often stressful environment
· Good reporting skills (oral & written)
· Language: Fluent in Turkish and advanced in English; Arabic is a plus
· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office®, especially MS Excel® and MS Word®
· No active criminal record
