Job Purpose
For managing Emergency response projects.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic planning:
- Actively participating in strategic planning related to Emergency Response programming.
- Research new and innovative project ideas in the sector that fit in the organizational strategy
- Communicate the vision and mission to the Emergency Response Program team.
- Ensure mainstreaming (Environment/Child protection/Gender/disabilities) is part and parcel of the Emergency Response programming.
Project related
- Produce high quality Proposal and lead the development of projects documentation..
- Follow up on the Emergency Response projects implementation.
- Ensure reporting timely and accurately and review Emergency Response projects reports before being submitted to the donor.
- Ensure mainstreaming is included in the projects.
Donor management
- Support Violet in identifying potential donors and funding opportunities for Emergency Response projects.
- Follow up on any requirements related to Emergency Response the donor may requests.
Coordination and Communication
- Hold Emergency Response program meetings.
- Ensure the Emergency Response teams work together efficiently.
- Ensuring the Emergency Response teams are well staffed (support Recruitment, appraisals carried out).
- Ensure good coordination between Emergency Response program and the MEAL team.
- Ensure good coordination between Emergency Response program and supporting team.
External coordination
- Ensure Violet participation in the coordination meetings (CWG/SNFI cluster meeting… etc).
Note: the above-mentioned vital responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Depending on the department's organizational chart, other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
Essential:
- University degree. Master degree is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years’ successful similar project management /team and work plans leading experience in the humanitarian NGOs under Emergency Response sector.
- Computer literate and competent with Microsoft office and other data management systems, as required.
- Excellent verbal and oral communication skills in English. Excellent reporting skills in English.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, manage time and priorities work to deadlines.
- Ability to solve problems in the field with support the team.
- Good team management skills, including support for teamwork.
