Logistics Coordinator (m/f)
in Turkey
The post is to be filled as soon as possible, initially December 31, 2017. The office is located in Gaziantep, Turkey.
Objectives and responsibilities of the position
As Logistics Coordinator, you develop and strengthen the logistic support and related services for procurement, transport, cross-border operations, warehousing, fleet management and the mission logistics set-up. Ensuring that the mission logistics set-up is adapted according to operations needs in order to respond to current and future scenarios in an efficient and effective manner. The Logistics Coordinator must demonstrate a senior management approach while supervising and advising on logistics related issues while playing a leadership role in all major logistics actions.
Your most important duties are as follows:
- Ensure at national level (Turkey & Iraq) that procurement, transport, fleet, warehouse and asset management and other logistical processes are implemented in compliance with WHH Logistics Guidelines and donor requirements.
- Supervision and performance appraisal of directly managed staff
- Training of logistics teams in all offices & of line managers with logistical responsibilities
- Responsible for the timely submission of reporting needed from other departments
- Responsible for the timely delivery of logistics related services to all programs in the region
- Responsible for the provision of logistics inputs during new programs/budget preparation/design
- Provide the Senior Management Team with coordination and planning inputs while guaranteeing a constant and close communication with all departments and HoPs
- Responsible for identification of new premises (office, warehouse, etc.) and to initiate and maintain the related leases, licenses and contracts
Your qualifications will include:
§ A university or polytechnic degree in development cooperation/humanitarian aid/focus on logistics, or qualifications that are commensurate with this position
§ Minimum 7 years of project and coordination experience in carrying out emergency aid and development projects of international (aid) agencies - preferably in the region
§ Strong IT-skills
§ Coordination and organisational skills - even under a high workload
§ A very good command of English; Turkish and/or Arabic are advantageous
§ A good regional knowledge
§ Willingness to travel in the region
