Turkey: Protection Mainstreaming & Data Officer ( National Position )

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

· Lead program data collection and reporting through working with Protection teams in each site (Mersin and Adana) to compile, track, and analyse data:

o Identify gaps or concerns in program data and reporting mechanisms and work with Protection & MEAL teams to address

o Work closely with protection monitors and Protection teams for visualization and summary of Protection program data and Protection trends and development of other communication materials

o Day to day line management of protection Monitors

o In coordination with the supervisor, complete work plans for all protection Monitors.

o Contribute to regular reporting on achievements and challenges related to the project

o Facilitate the continuous assessment process and provide support to protection monitors conducting the assessments when needed.

o Ensure protection concerns are integrated into programming, including mainstreaming protection into all IMC components ensuring basic minimum protection requirements.

o Coaching and mentoring of protection Monitors as needed

o Facilitate the qualitative and quantitative monitoring of the project and enhance and develop any other monitoring tools.

o Ensure follow up on referral cases and keep record on outcomes.

· Support in program data management and visualization to strengthen quality of Protection programming and enhance visibility

o Support design of Protection databases and associated forms, as well as training of teams on and integration of new systems

o Keep Indicator Tracking/Bank updated, including methodology for measurement of each indicator

o Lead data review and verification processes to ensure accuracy of program data, including spot-checking

o Create graphs, charts, and other visual illustrations of Protection program data to show patterns and trends

· Support in program development of Protection Capacity-Building Program and overall Protection programming:

o Develop M+E capacity-building plan for Protection teams and work with MEAL and Protection counterparts to implement, that include training and workshops.

o Conduct Protection mainstreaming trainings for IMC staff, service providers, and other actors, document all the findings of the trainings evaluation, Pre and post-test, etc.

o Lead protection mainstreaming follow-up surveys / interviews regularly.

o Conduct Protection monitoring visits to Mersin and Adana.

· Support in Protection mainstreaming and coordination within Protection sub-sector teams and throughout other sectors:

o Update and share service mapping data, 3 Ws and any other documents as needed.

o Participate in internal and external coordination meetings and represent on Protection programs and concerns

· Other tasks & responsibilities as required

Knowledge and Experience:

· At least 2-3 years of relevant professional protection experience with a humanitarian aid organization.

· Educational background in Social Science, International Relations, Law, Social Work/Psychology, Economics, or other related field in Humanities or field related to data management

· Good understanding of Protection principles and minimum standards and ability to communicate Protection messages to other stakeholders

· Extremely strong data management skills, with significant experience working with database management

· Fluent English and Arabic, Turkish language skills highly desirable.

· Strong qualitative and quantitative reporting skills, with demonstrated experience in reporting and data visualization (e.g. graphs, charts, etc.)

· Familiarity with Child Protection, Gender Based Violence, and Mental Health and Psychosocial programming desirable

· Strong communication skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural and sensitive issues

· Strong data management skills and qualitative and quantitative reporting skills, with demonstrated experience in reporting and data visualization

· Ability to build engagement of teams and communities, including communicating with different stakeholders

· Ability to represent the organization and Protection program

· Strict adherence to humanitarian and Protection principles and standards, as well as organizational policies including Code of Conduct and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA)

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with database tools

· Good leadership skills and ability to supervise and support 4 monitors in different sites.
