About Hand in Hand for Syria
Hand in Hand for Syria (HIHFS) was established in May 2011 as a non-political, non-sectarian organization to provide humanitarian relief to people inside Syria. With the contribution of its private donors and official partners, it is covering projects in health, WASH, shelter, food security, NFI and education sectors.
It was first registered in the UK under the Charity Commission with a head office in London. It is also registered in Turkey under the Ministry of Interior – Department of Association with two offices: Main office in Reyhanli and another in Gaziantep which are supported by more than 350 staff.
Position Title: Logistics Officer
Reports to: Logistics Coordinator and Operation Manager
Department:Logistics Department
The main Purpose of the position :
HIHFS is seeking to recruit candidates for the position of (logistic Officer) to work in its main office in Reyhanli .
The selected logistic officer will be responsible for procurement of all the required materials and requirements, Purchasing, freight and delivery of supplies, equipment and goods according to the organization’s rules and regulations
Tasks and Responsibilities
.1-To make sure that all logistic operations performed by the organization are in accordance with the special policies and procedures of HIHFS ,partner organizations and donors .
2 – Identifying and procurement of logistic requirements, setting up work places and procurement of the necessary buildings and warehouses for work.
3 – Supervising customs clearance processes of shipments and liaise with government about cross-border procedures.
4 –Preparing all the required documents and paper work related to purchasing and buying processes within the organization in accordance with policies and procedures of HIHFS, partner organizations and donors.
5 – Preparing the necessary reports about work.
6 – Maintain continuous search for reliable and eligible suppliers, sellers, service providers and contractors to execute the programs policies and procedures of HIHFS, partner organizations and donors.
7 –Negotiating with suppliers, sellers, service providers and contractors in order to obtain the best regarding quality, prices, time required, deliverance terms..etc.
8 – Cooperation with the management of warehouses to ensure that all the necessary procedures of storing materials are implemented.
9 –Tracking HIHFS equipment and materials maintenance operations.
10 – Participation in supervising on the movement of HIHFS vehicles and reviewing the daily journey management of these cars and vehicles.
11 – Perform any other duties as assigned by the country director or his representative in accordance with nature of his work.
University Degree .
. Scientific Qualifications Required
At least one year experience in logistic field
Practical Experience Required

.1-Advanced skills in Office package and computer skills
2 – Ability to meet deadlines, performing duties on time and possessing time management skills.
3 –Professional attire and grooming in addition to customary speech skills.
4 – Ability to work under pressure, making decisions in urgent situations problem solving skills
5 –Having good conduct and manners.
Languages
Arabic (fluency in reading ,writing and translation )
English (Advanced level –reading ,writing ,conversation and translation )
.Turkish language is a benefit for the job applicant
