Position: Senior Program Officer – National Position
Location: Gaziantep, Turkey
Reports to: Program Manager
Duration: 5 months with possibility of extension contingent on funding

Relief International is a registered NGO in Turkey and is based in Gaziantep to build capacities of Syrian communities to respond their needs in health, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and education. Relief International is currently seeking candidates to be employed as Program Officer in Gaziantep as soon as possible.
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Senior Program Officer will provide efficient and effective support to the program assigned and collaboratively work with the rest of the team and all RI department in order to achieve Program’s objectives.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Program Manager on monitoring funding status for each sector of the program to identify possible funding gaps and ensure smooth transitions.
- Link with the operations and finance departments to ensure the compiling/collating of major donor management reports and report all findings to Program Manager
Support coordination at the national level with members of the Programs Management and other technical areas/functions
Assist in monitoring program's progress ensuring goals and objectives are achieved and non-financial grant requirements are adhered to
Regular visits to fields / projects to ensure that program implementation is in line with the principles agreed on.
Participate in collaboration with Program Manager in joint agency assessments, task-force teams, workshops, clusters
Follow up and work closely with partners to ensure implementation and budget compliance.
Work on the capacity building for the partners in different sectors such as Logistics, HR, performance management and policies and procedures.
Contribute to country program strategies in partnership with strategy leadership provided by country teams; review development strategies with the Deputy Program Manager for revision and action. Maintain awareness about international standards with regard to program design and implementation and humanitarian relief and development best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years’ experience of program management or support
- Previous NGO experience in preferably, an emergency response/conflict setting programs in the Humanitarian sector;
- If no NGO experience, strong previous work experience in project management, Human resources and experience working in a multinational position required
- Fluency in English and Arabic are essential; Turkish will be considered a strong asset.
- Strong capacity building and facilitation skills
- Ability to pursue thoroughness and appropriate attention to detail.
- Ability to express self clearly in all forms of writing.
- Ability to identify gaps, trends, priorities and key issues.
- Ability to describe key aspects and issues of relief, development and advocacy.
- Strong IT skills, including MS Office Word and Excel;
- Able to work independently and within a team;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment;
- Must be flexible, adaptable and willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.
