No Peace Without Justice (NPWJ) is an international non-profit organization that works for the protection and promotion of human rights, democracy, the rule of law and international justice. NPWJ’s work on Syria aims at reducing the expectation and rewards of impunity and building a culture of accountability. With the focus on Transitional Justice, the project will run a series of trainings for Syrian Civil Society actors, as well as providing mentoring on advocacy work. The training series focuses on specific themes and issues which are relevant to justice and accountability processes.

Position summary
We are looking for an accountant to temporarily cover up our Office Manager who is in maternity leave for six months, The accountant will organise and coordinate office operations and procedures, in order to ensure organisational effectiveness, efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate will be experienced in accounting, procurement and a wide range of administrative and related tasks. This person must be exceedingly well organised, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting an office of diverse people.
Duties and responsibilities
Serve as the point person for maintenance, mailing, shopping, supplies, equipment, bills.
Organise office operations and procedures according to NPWJ standards
Manage relationships with vendors, service providers and the landlord, ensuring that all items are invoiced and paid on time
Tracking budget expenses, achieves financial objectives by preparing monthly, quarterly and annual budget, scheduling expenditures; analysing variances, initiating corrective actions
Provide general support to NPWJ’s legal representative in Turkey as needed
Maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
Implement NPWJ office policies by following the organisation’s standards and procedures, and suggesting adjustments where necessary
Tracking Budget Expenses, achieves financial objectives
Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
· Proven office management, accountant, administrative experience
· Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
· Knowledge of Turkish legal requirements as they relate to NGO management an advantage
· Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
· Attention to detail and problem solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organisational and planning skills
· Proficiency in MS Office
· Dual language (Turkish, English)
