People in Need’s programs for war-affected Syrian population focus mainly on livelihood/food security, rural rehabilitation and emergency education. PIN operates several programs in 3 locations in Northern and Eastern Syria (Idlib, Aleppo and Al Hasaka province) with its offices and field staff in Syria. Cross-border operations are managed from Turkey where PIN’s main office is established serving as administrative and logistics support of program implemented directly or through partners in Syria. Furthermore, PIN implements smaller scale projects in Turkey addressing the needs of refugees in terms of education.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure that the overall programme is designed, managed and implemented in conformity to People in Need’s policies, strategy and guidelines.
- Facilities the linkages and synergies among programs
- Coordinate and actively contribute to development of new project proposals
- Oversee the quality of program outputs/outcomes
- Network among donors and key stakeholders to actively seek funding opportunities
- In consultation with the Country Director, plan HR needs, capacity building needs for senior staff and ensure sufficient human resources for the programme to meet its objectives
- Ensure timely and high quality reporting to donors
- Undertakes monitoring visits to programme areas and provides feedback to managers and staff (if security situation allows)
- Ensure that PIN is well represented and visible in the donor community, amount key partners, and within coordination fora, delegating as appropriate to programme staff.
Main requirements:
- Three years relevant programme and management experience in emergency context
- Experience and knowledge of the rules of at least two out of the three following donors ECHO, OFDA, DFID required
- Experience in remote management is a strong advantage
- High motivation to provide humanitarian assistance
- Proven project development skills
- Fluent English both spoken and written (Arabic is an advantage)
- Ability to quickly adapt and get oriented in new environment
- Ability do make strategic decisions even in stressful context, under time pressure
- Is open to cultural differences and can adjust the managerial style while working with people coming from different cultural background
- Positive working attitude and good team spirit
PIN offers:

- Starting salary in the range from 3 600 EUR to 3 800 EUR depending on experience; including per diem
