Turkey: Grants Coordinator

In line with Bihar’s humanitarian relief programme the grants coordinator, based in Gaziantep, will coordinate ongoing and future grants and partnerships. The coordinator will frequently meet donors and partners and regularly represent Bihar at external meetings. This person will work closely with the Programme Team.

Position Grade: Coordinator

Operational Sector: Programme Department

Direct Supervisor: Programme Manager

Employees Supervised: None

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Preparing project implementation plans and budget of new projects for the sector together with Programme Manager.
• Proposals will be written in high quality English.
• Working on maintaining and raising standards of project proposals and reporting in line with plans and donor requirements.
• Timely periodic reporting – to donors and management - of a high standard.
• Ensuring Bihar’s compliance with the terms of the signed contract, including budgets, with the donor.
• Creating training references and manuals for project management staff.
• Attending meetings with donors, and other stakeholders.
• Working closely with all departments (finance, logistics, HR) during the planning, implementation and closure/reporting of projects
• Using programme information plan for the future projects of Bihar
• Work on building the capacity of the programme team – especially reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • University degree
  • Project Cycle Management.

Experience:

  • Two years minimum with an I/NGO.

Required Skills and Capabilities:

  • Excellent written and spoken English language proficiency.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Independent initiative but team member.
  • MS Office suit proficiency.
  • Presentable.
  • Problem solving ability.

Work Environment and Conditions:
• Work in Gaziantep with potential travel in Turkey.
• Flexibility regarding hours of work as requested by the Programme Manager.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Periodic reports submitted to the direct supervisor.
  • Periodic 3-month review with direct supervisor on job performance.
  • Reports of attendance, absence, and professional compliance submitted to HR-Manager.
