PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this position is to ensure successful management of grants funded by a variety of donors including government agencies, UN agencies, private donors and others. This will be achieved through the establishment and use of best practice project management systems, providing expert advice on donor and support office requirements and regulations, by supporting contract and sub-grant negotiation and review and by helping to build staff and partner capacity to ensure compliance with contractual and donor regulations. Another key aspect of the role will be supporting reporting on all aspects of the World Vision Turkey grants portfolio, including performance and income reporting.
Country/grant specific content
The purpose of the programmes unit is to support the successful management of grant funding from public donors including OFDA, OCHA, UNICEF, ECHO, Global Affairs Canada, and EuropeAid. The programmes unit also ensures effective grants management processes across the project management cycle, including successful liaison with internal and external donors when necessary and provision of expert advice and support to the different staff members involved in resource acquisition and management.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
ROLE DIMENSION / DESCRIPTION
Provide leadership, support and capacity building to improve the management of grants held by World Vision Turkey, including income management and reporting
Provide leadership and support to ensure compliance with donor requirements is achieved in every World Vision Turkey project
Provide expert advice on contractual aspects of grants from acquisition through to management to ensure donor requirements are met and support excellence in grants management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training:
Post graduate university degree in social sciences, international development, finance/accounting or equivalent OR experience working in a humanitarian or NGO environment with a relevant business/finance undergraduate degree
Minimum 2 years of experience in Grants Quality and Compliance or Grant Project Management or Grants Finance
Knowledge of the program management cycle – design, monitoring and evaluation
Excellent written & spoken English. Arabic language is preferred
Excellent communication, interpersonal, representation and negotiation skills
Excellent analytical and writing (English) skills
Sound planning, time management and administrative skills
