Turkey: Senior M&E Associate

Position Location: Gaziantep, Turkey

Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the M&E Manager, the Senior M&E Associate contributes to the effective implementation of overall M&E strategy for the Access to Justice and Community Security (AJACS) program.

Reporting & Supervision:

The Senior M&E Associate will report to the M&E Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Contributes to shaping M&E strategy for the relevant program component(s);
• Drafts and edits data collection tools for routine monitoring of program activities;
• Analyzes field data and works with the Field Coordinator to oversee data collection efforts;
• Produces routine monitoring and final evaluation reports;
• Provides inputs to M&E sections of AJACS bi-weekly and quarterly reports;
• Contributes to data collection tools, analysis, and writing of baseline, midline and endline assessments;
• Coordinates with programmatic staff to facilitate M&E activities and promote M&E recommendations and lessons learned;
• Working with the M&E Field Coordinators, participates in the training of Field Monitoring Officers; and
• Liaises across departments internally to conduct routine monitoring and reporting, in addition to promoting best practices and lessons learned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Middle East studies, international relations/development, security studies or other related field;
• Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience (excluding internships) in M&E, preferably in the Middle East;
• Excellent report writing and editing skills in English;
• Demonstrated ability to read Modern Standard Arabic fluently and conduct research using Arabic sources;
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
• Knowledge of the Syrian context an advantage;
• Track record of delivering high quality work to tight deadlines; and
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic;
• Previous experience in the security and justice sector; or
• Knowledge of statistical analysis software such as Stata, SPSS.
