Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the M&E Manager, the Senior M&E Associate contributes to the effective implementation of overall M&E strategy for the Access to Justice and Community Security (AJACS) program.
Reporting & Supervision:
The Senior M&E Associate will report to the M&E Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Contributes to shaping M&E strategy for the relevant program component(s);
- Drafts and edits data collection tools for routine monitoring of program activities;
- Analyzes field data and works with the Field Coordinator to oversee data collection efforts;
- Produces routine monitoring and final evaluation reports;
- Provides inputs to M&E sections of AJACS bi-weekly and quarterly reports;
- Contributes to data collection tools, analysis, and writing of baseline, midline and endline assessments;
- Coordinates with programmatic staff to facilitate M&E activities and promote M&E recommendations and lessons learned;
- Working with the M&E Field Coordinators, participates in the training of Field Monitoring Officers; and
- Liaises across departments internally to conduct routine monitoring and reporting, in addition to promoting best practices and lessons learned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Middle East studies, international relations/development, security studies or other related field;
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience (excluding internships) in M&E, preferably in the Middle East;
- Excellent report writing and editing skills in English;
- Demonstrated ability to read Modern Standard Arabic fluently and conduct research using Arabic sources;
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Knowledge of the Syrian context an advantage;
- Track record of delivering high quality work to tight deadlines; and
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic;
- Previous experience in the security and justice sector; or
- Knowledge of statistical analysis software such as Stata, SPSS.
