PURPOSE OF POSITION
Work with Grassroots Communications Programme Manager and M&E Manager to track Grassroots programme delivery and results, with a specific focus on measuring impact among Syrian audiences. Review and maintain an M&E plan to assess/measure identified outputs and outcomes in the log-frame. Work with a Syrian network of in-country M&E staff/partners to commission focus groups and other research. Contribute to programme reporting and support continuous improvement by summarising and synthesising primary research. The position reports to the Programme Manager, and works in close coordination with the M&E Manager.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and maintain an M&E plan for the programme designed to assess project outputs and outcomes. Regularly update to ensure information needs are met, particularly indications of programme impact.
- Working with a team of in-country M&E staff/partners, conduct and commission interviews with participants and selected stakeholders, focus group discussions and a range of other research to test product effectiveness, verify product distribution and identify project impact. Working with the Digital Specialist, track product reception on social media and other Syrian media.
- Synthesise research findings and document programme outputs and results in the Data Management System and in written briefs.
- Contribute to regular programme reporting – identifying M&E needs ahead of time - and produce spot reports as required.
- Facilitate use of M&E information in programmatic decision-making.
- Train partners in basic data collection and support them in implementation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Qualitative analysis skills.
- Knowledge of principles of results-oriented monitoring and evaluation.
- Excellent facilitation skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel.
- Fluent Arabic and English.
- Strong commitment to the values of data-based decision making, transparency, methodological rigour and programme learning.
