Scope of work
The Project Lead will work with the iMMAP Turkey team, and will be responsible for defining a vision, strategy and plan for the program capacity strengthening and support to Syria crisis response actors, implementing programmatic activities and managing national and international staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL
Assist Country Director with Strategic Planning
Formulate, in consultation with key stakeholders, a clear vision of present and future program goals and objectives, which can be clearly communicated to team members, local beneficiaries, international partners, government counterparts and donors.
Set direction by designing a program strategy and plan, which define priorities, activities and resources required to fulfill program and organizational objectives.
Evaluate and refine program priorities via participation in country and Whole of Syria (WoS) advisory platforms.
Identify, evaluate and generate new country and project funding opportunities that drive impact as well as integrate initiatives and activities; support and direct related fundraising activities with both institutional and private donors.
Team Management
Develop and maintain an adequate performance management plan consistent with iMMAP’s policies, to include human resources (current position descriptions for all iMMAP in country positions, personnel orientation and personnel grievance procedures system) and talent management (professional development plans, personnel evaluation system and field personnel policy manual).
Recruit, manage and motivate an informed, skilled and efficient team with an emphasis on excellence and achievement; encourage a team culture of learning, creativity and innovation, incorporating staff development strategies and performance management systems into the team building process.
Establish leadership with the iMMAP team via creation and implementation of an organizational culture of accountability, responsibility and quality of services.
Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
- Working alongside unit program managers and grounded in donor requirements, develop and roll-out an M&E plan that analyses current performance and metrics, identifies gaps on an ongoing basis, articulates recommendations for improved performance reporting and implements course correction.
Fiscal, Compliance Management and Accountability
In collaboration with country Finance Manager, define and manage overall country budget within approved spending levels via establishment of an annual cash flow plan to ensure a steady and adequate supply of funds for program activities.
Oversee budget management of sub-grantees/sub-contractors if any.
Build and maintain operational structures that ensure proper segregation of duties between finance, administration and logistics and fully support field programs.
REPRESENTATION
Represent the iMMAP project team with national and local government officials, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), donor agency officials, vendors, media and general public.
Maintain effective and positive internal communication with iMMAP regional office team members to introduce program and identify opportunities for collaboration (i.e. sharing of resources, effective practices, lessons learned)
Follow iMMAP's branding policies & procedures, required for marketing or branding of all iMMAP products and correspondence.
SECURITY
Follow security protocols, as laid down by the iMMAP Global Security Advisor.
ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING
As part of the iMMAP commitment to organizational learning, and in support of the understanding that learning organizations are more effective, efficient and relevant to the communities they serve, it is expected that the individual will commit 5% of his/her time to learning activities that benefit iMMAP as well as individual professional development.
ACCOUNTABILITY TO BENEFICIARIES
iMMAP team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to beneficiaries of iMMAP programs, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of field projects.

Any other duties as required.
Reporting Lines
The Project Lead works under the direct supervision of the iMMAP Country Director.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
Very good English, both spoken and written;
Degree in international affairs or related field, and relevant field experience.
Demonstrable skills in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation procedures
Familiarity with daily staff management task in a multi-cultural environment.
Demonstrable skills implementing finance, administration, security, procurement, HR policies and procedures in compliance with HQ and donor regulations.
DESIRED
Minimum 15 years’ experience in emergency response or humanitarian environment;
Strong interpersonal skills.
Proven ability and experience interacting with a wide range of organizations while upholding humanitarian principles of impartiality and neutrality.

Physically fit and able to cope with demands of unusual working hours and difficult environments.
