Turkey: GBV Program Officer

  • Work closely with the GBV Program Manager, to meet program goals and to determine operational needs
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports and assist the manager in drafting donor quarterly/annual reports
  • Take the lead on updating the GBVIMS database and produce regular analysis reports
  • Support the PSWs and the MHPSS Manager to provide them with the technical report needed for GBV cases received.
  • Support the GBV Program Manager in GBV regular case reviews with Psychosocial workers
  • Organize and provide trainings to service providers on GBV guiding principles and referrals.
  • Work to establish and/or reinforce referral pathways with other sectors/services
  • Organize community mobilization around health issues concerning GBV
  • Liaise with health facility, mental health staff to integrate GBV guiding principles
  • Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibility as and when needed
  • Ensure planned program activities are executed in a timely manner
  • Ensure on a weekly basis appropriate spending

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational background in Social Science, International Relations, Law, Social
  • Work/ Psychology, or other related field
  • Understanding of emergency response and two years of relevant professional experience, including experience in gender, GBV or protection programming
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering training and of group facilitation

  • Proven experience in developing and delivering training and of group facilitation
  • Extremely strong communication skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural and sensitive issues
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to protection issues, including application of the principle of confidentiality
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative reporting skills
  • Strong problem-solving and innovation to address gaps and challenges
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to produce timely and high quality of work
  • Demonstrated high level of flexibility, responsiveness, and reliability
  • Ability to work under pressure and strong time management skills to meet both short-term and long-term objectives
  • Strict adherence to humanitarian and Protection principles and standards, as well as organizational policies including Code of Conduct and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English fluency compulsory speaking and writing.
  • Able to work legally in Turkey (having valid residency)
