Turkey: Head Facilitator - Iskenderun (National Post)

ROLE PURPOSE:

Under the direct supervision of the Education Officer and the overall guidance of the Non-Formal Education Project Manager, the Head Facilitators will oversee the overall management and administration of the Adolescent Friendly Centers (AFC) in Antakya and Iskenderun.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

· Organize administrative/financial/logistics matters related to the AFC activities

· Oversee the effective management of records, files, folders, and supportive documents of all implemented activities.

· Follow up the regular AFC activities including catch up classes, PSS sessions, language courses and skills training.

· Conduct weekly coordination meetings with the community centre staff and volunteers

· Make work plans for AFC activities

· Ensure the recruitment of facilitators, orientation and mentoring as necessary

· Plan for team building activities to ensure a good and positive working environment amongst all AFC staff with the support of Education Officer

· Manage potential conflicts among AFC team members, with the support of the Education Officer.

· Coordinate the implementation of all the classes and ensures that the classes are delivered in an organized and timely manner by the facilitators.

· Collect the attendance of students tracked by the facilitators and ensure timely provision of data, information and analysis to AFC team.

· Refer the adolescents and youth who are in need of specialised psychosocial support (PSS) to case management team.

· Inform the students on other classes offered in the AFCs

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:

Required:

· Minimum 1 year of experience in the formal or non-formal education sector

· Experience in management and administration

· Technical skills on supporting formal or non-formal education projects

· Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including team leading and influencing.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English

· Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and able to take decisions independently in fluid context.

· Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding.

Desired:

· Experience with refugee/marginalized communities

· Knowledge of Turkish
