Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train and follow up any outstanding issues with the District Nutrition Surveillance Officers (DNOs).
- Ensure all district supervisors data have been received on time and merged into central database.
- Ensure the capacities for surveillance, surveys, and response are in place within the system.
- Support the district team in their preparedness plans and activities.
- Monitor status of the reporting and the continuance of the database updates.
- Follow up with any updates and tasks related to the nutrition surveillance system and similar projects in Syria.
- Develop and present education and promotions related to nutrition surveillance, such as training workshops, conferences, and school or community presentations.
- Prepare nutrition education materials, including reports, bulletins, and visual aids.
- Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with agencies and organizations interested in nutrition.
- Document and address challenges encountered in meeting surveillance expectations.
Specifications:
- A University Degree in nutrition, Pharmacy or Medicine.
- Experience in nutritional epidemiology, health/nutrition policy and/or management, or other related science field is required.
- Be an effective team player and leader.
- Ability to manage staff and resources.
- Training skills.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and meet high-pressure demands and tight deadlines.
- High analytical and problem solving skills.
- Very good command of Arabic and English.
- Excellent computer skills (esp. MS Office applications).
