Job Purpose
To design and implement a specific Information Management strategy, in order to analyse and disseminate information on the population of concern, and to help setting up primary data collection systems and organise needs assessments, which may also involve other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and manage the information management strategy including the internal management of information within Programs Dept., document management, flows of information and discovery of data/information and define operational and funding requirements for the implementation of the strategy.
- Analise sector data, identify and address the information across all sectors and departments, and facilitate information sharing between these sectors and departments, .
- Identify new information and data requirements to support operations In IhsanRD operation area, and provide emergency response information management support to emergency relief sector and relevant departments.
- Design and implement a structured dissemination plan for all information products and services as appropriate, (e.g. fact sheet, need assessments, findings, liking between departments, information follow procedures)
- Set standards for operational, geographical and population data to be used throughout the relative staff.
- Work closely with the peer-to-peer Monitoring Officer to ensure consistency and interoperability between registration data and other operational data sets, and consistency between registration and information management strategies, as well as on other statistical reporting.
- Participate in information management and visualization improvement projects, contributing to systems analysis, design, development and implementation.
- Evaluate adequacy of existing information management and reference tools. Implement new technologies in information management to ensure that tools developed for efficient access to information are accessible to staff.
Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
A.Essential:
- University degree in archival, information science, information systems, social science or related field.
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in information management or related area.
- Advanced level in both English and Arabic is required.
B.Desirable:
- Advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) in archival, information science, information systems, social science or related field.
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in information management or related area.
- Three years of professional experience in experience in project monitoring, or related field.

B.Technical Competencies:** Experience in desktop publishing, data analysis, infographics, and publications.
Knowledge of different data collection methodologies.
Demonstrable experience in data visualization, e.g. GIS, infographics.
Strong knowledge of data management tools such as Excel, Tableau required.
Familiarity with mobile-based data collection tools such as ODK, KoBo Toolkit, CommCare strongly preferred
Ability to translate planning specifications into technical briefs for data capture and analysis, and vice versa
