ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/SCOPE OF WORK:
- Providing psychiatric care for mental health clients.
- Work regularly at duty sites to serve the beneficiaries from 9am to 5pm.
- Use of medications appropriately when necessary.
- Participate in regular case management team meetings for interdisciplinary care of patients.
- Provide Clinical Supervision and Capacity building for PSS Teams
- Accept referrals from the case management team, from other NGOs, and from IMC’s primary health care doctors.
- Attend monthly mental health meeting managed by the MHPSS Manager or national psychiatrist manager.
- Deliver mental health trainings and supervision to the case management team and primary health care doctors.
- Provide clinical supervision to primary health care physicians during assessment of mental health cases.
- Facilitate the smooth operations of the mental health clinic by providing appropriate technical and administrative support to the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
¨ Qualified Psychiatrist
¨ Medical Doctor Degree
¨ mhGAP ToT Preferable
¨ Supervision Experience
¨ Must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written
¨ Must have excellent self-motivation skills
¨ Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
¨ Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations
¨ Ability to relate to and motivate local staff effectively
¨ Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources
¨ Excellent decision making skills.
¨ Must work independently and responsibly under difficult conditions
¨ Ability to write reports, and manuals.
¨ Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English. Turkish would be an asset.
¨ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
¨ Knowledge of IASC Guidelines for MHPSS in Emergencies
¨ Knowledge of community based psychosocial support
