Job Purpose
The FSL coordinator is responsible for coordinating, consolidating, and ensuring smooth implementation of FSL programs in IhsanRD. This includes providing guidance and support to the team as well as ensuring proper coordination with other sectors and organizational functions. The coordinator will work closely with other support departments including logistics, finance and HR to ensure proper procurement, forecasting and recruitment. S/he will also ensure adherence to IhsanRD and donor guidelines and standards. The coordinator will also be in charge of building the capacity of the FSL team, internal and external organization representation. S/he will report to the Programs Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Coordination:
- Act as official Ihsan RD representative to stakeholders for all matters concerning FSL. This includes clusters / working group, partners and meetings with donors.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local partners, local authorities and other relevant actors.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with field staff and Turkey office through both verbal and written correspondence.
- Coordinate effective implementation of clear security and protection protocol for FSL activities.
Programmatic:
- Establish clear strategy and direction for FSL Program in Ihsan RD in collaboration with Programs Manager and other related departments.
- Develop appropriate targeting criteria and mechanisms to ensure the needs of identified vulnerable groups are met throughout all FSL activities
- Plan and implement food security and livelihood activities such as:
- Agriculture interventions.
- Livestock interventions.
- Cash based interventions.
- Income generating interventions.
- Innovation interventions in early recovery sector.
- Support Ihsan RD in exploring funding opportunities based on developed strategies in order to meet the needs Ihsan areas of operation.
- Support in writing proposals, such as preparing logical frameworks and budgets.
- Ensure the quality in management and implementation of FSL project (s) and administration of project finances, including adherence to Ihsan RD’s, partner and donors’ guidelines.
- Ensure all project activities are conducted in accordance with agreed work-plan and proposal.
- Submit monthly and quarterly reports to supervisor, partners and donors, including activities summary, progress against objectives, services delivered, beneficiary caseload data, achievements to date, issues faced, impact stories and financial expenditure.
- Ensure reporting deadlines and quality of FSL program staff are met.
- Work with MEAL to evaluate projects implemented, looking into lessons learned and applying them internally within the department.
Note: the above mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience):
Essential:**
- Bachelor degree in Agronomy, Veterinary, socio-economic, Business Administration, International Development, Community Development or related discipline.
- 2 or 3 years of professional experience in development and implementation of FSL programming, preferably in Syria crisis.
- Advanced level in both English and Arabic.
Desirable:**
- Advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) in Agronomy, veterinary, socio-economic, Business administration, International Development, Community Development or related discipline
- Five years of professional experience in in development and implementation of FSL programming, preferably in Syria crisis.
- Native level of both English and Arabic.
