1. Project Description
The project funded and implemented in Hatay, Kilis and Sanliurfa by DRC Livelihood Turkey, in partnership with Orange, aims to develop capacity for self-reliance of affected population through the reduction of their socio-economic vulnerabilities. Our Livelihood project proposes an integrated and innovative approach that enhances the transition from relief to the achievement of self-reliance. DRC and Orange is working to reduce economic vulnerabilities by increasing social self-reliance through counselling and provision of useful skills to adapt to the displacement. In addition, DRC and Orange is addressing the economic self-reliance through technical and vocational trainings, linkage to private sector as well as entrepreneurship through the productive asset support. Orange is supporting DRC with the provision of capacity building to beneficiaries, including needs assessment, provision of Workshops, and individual coaching. Orange is also supporting DRC to ensure that capacity buildings activities are followed by a strong linkage with the private sector and income-generating activities through the organization of business and networking events, Job fairs, and Product Fairs.
2. Scope of work
Under the supervision of the local Training Coordinator, the lead Business Trainer will be responsible for undertaking the following tasks:
· Prepare for and ensure the delivery of trainings for beneficiaries in accordance with relevant training need assessments conducted;
· Attend the Train of Trainers courses organized by Orange Master Trainer in Gaziantep, Turkey;
· Develop the training materials to satisfy the needs of the beneficiaries into PowerPoint, handouts and other tools to be used in the delivery of the trainings, with the support of Orange team;
· Develop training agenda and specific training activities for each course;
· Assist the local Training Coordinator in supervising the proper organization of the training courses;
· Select beneficiaries for each training based on specific needs and business sector, along with DRC team;
· Evaluate beneficiaries’ knowledge of the subject training courses to be conducted prior to the start of the trainings (pre-test), evaluate progress (during training) and evaluate beneficiaries’ knowledge after the conclusion of the training (post-test) and measure impact improvement achieved;
· Secure feedback directly or indirectly from the beneficiaries on the delivery of the local trainings and any recommendations or suggestions regarding the structure and substance of the training materials;
· Undertake the needed changes, addition or omissions to the training materials in accordance with beneficiaries’ feedback and training need assessment;
· Remain available after the completion training courses for any questions by beneficiaries and provide any coaching needed for beneficiaries to ensure training objectives are successfully achieved;
· Visit the home-based business along with DRC Livelihood assistants to provide technical support and to assess the needs in term of capacity building;
· Perform other related duties as required.
Institutional Arrangement
The lead Business Trainer reports to and works under the direct supervision of Orange local Training Coordinator and DRC Senior Livelihood Officer. The Project is responsible for covering the costs of travel and accommodation for necessary mission outside the Duty Station as identified with the Project Coordinator.
Qualifications and Experience
A. Education
· A university degree in business, economics, or a related field of specialization.
B. Work Experience
· A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
· Demonstrated experience in teaching or training;
· An experience as Entrepreneur is highly appreciated.
C. Key Competencies
· Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and respect for diversity;
· Current knowledge of business management standards and good practices;
· Excellent presentation, group activities, inter-personal communication skills as well under high pressure and according to time-sensitive schedules;
· Ability to develop new training and coaching methodologies to ensure successful achievement of the project objectives;
· Responds positively to critical feedback and differing points of view; and
· Fluency in Arabic and excellent English language skills.
