Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered Syrian Civil Society Organization in Turkey, works in Development and Relief domain where it has established an office in Gaziantep in 2014, and was officially registered in 2015.

Basmeh & Zeitooneh was launched in Lebanon September 2012 by group of volunteers with field visits to areas with high concentrations of the most marginalized and neediest Syrian refugees, the main goal of their visits was to assess the needs and to fill the gaps left by other aid agencies. The organization was officially registered as an NGO in Lebanon in 2014.

Nowadays, the organization has one information center in Urfa and two Community centers in Gaziantep and Urfa that are easily accessible by the refugees and their hosts, friendly and welcoming spaces where people can receive relief services, vocational training and peace education for children.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly qualified individual in the education field who are able to implement educational lessons/ session for youth in a challenging but interesting environment.

Teacher will be responsible of conduct and implement informal and remedial education sessions for children and adolescents.

He/ She will be under the supervision of the Project Coordinator/ Center Manager.

Line Manager: Project Coordinator/ Center Manager.

Technical Supervisor: N/A.

Subordinates: N/A.

Contract: Part Time/ 4 hours a day/ 5 days a week/ 12 Months.

Location: Turkey/ Gaziantep.

Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks:

· Develop and follow-up the English lessons plans & prepare the lessons, and Teach, according to the students’ educational needs and the project’s English curriculum.

· Use the available materials & educational tools for the lessons in coordination with Education Advisor/ Center Manager.

· Follow the exact curriculum specified by the Educational Center/ Official.

· Use activities and teaching methods (songs, stories, media, art and outdoor activities, etc...) to stimulate and activate the abilities & capacities of the students.

· Organize groups among the students to practice English language verbally, considering the different levels of English language knowledge among all students.

· Maintain grade book, proctor exams, and assign projects as necessary.

· Correct periodic tests and examinations & share the results with Management and Monitoring & Evaluation Department, and provide the Management with the papers.

· Mentoring students and preparing them for English language competitions.

· Participate in students outdoor activities as part of the official working hours.

· Participate in the training courses coordinate/ organized by the Educational Center/ Official to ensure that the quality of work.

· Refer students with special behavioral problems to the Protection Department according to the agreed model.

· Inform the administration about any symptoms that may appear on the students, especially transmitted diseases.

· Signs timesheet on a daily basis with clarifying the working hours.

· Full compliance of the organization's code of conduct signed by all the staff of the center, and informs the administration about any breach of the Code, especially with regard to the pre-agreed Child Protection Policy.

Education and Experience:

University/ Bachelor degree in English Language/literature or other related field.

3 years of experience as teacher.

Required Skills:

· Excellent level of oral and written English and Arabic.

· Knowledge and skills in computer usage including (Word & Power Point).

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, tasks efficiently.

· Demonstrated ability to work both individually and within a team, and under pressure.

· Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills especially with children and adolescent.

· Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and strategic planning skills are required.

· Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of student at all times.

· Readiness and fitness to commute between different Cultures.

· Ability and willing to work overtime and on weekends (when necessary).

Requirements:

· Temporary Protection Residency (AFAD) in Gaziantep.

or

· Valid short term residency permit
