Job purpose

Ensure the education projects have been delivered as per the criteria and develop partnerships in the humanitarian community to implement more education projects inside Syria.

Main areas of responsibility

Tasks including but not limited to:

· Design detailed project activities, in collaboration with project partners including community engagement plans, stakeholder engagement and a broad variety of other project activities to ensure the successful delivery of the education programmes.

· Write education proposals and prepare applications for grants and sponsorship (log frame, narrative, budget).

· Ensure building proper log frames with SMART indicators and review it with M&E department.

· Build relationships with INGOs and donors and represent HCS in meetings with donors and other working groups who work in education projects. Prepare and give presentations and visits in weekly basis.

· Ensure that programmes are being implemented with reference to the donors predefined criteria.

· Donor relations, regulation and reporting to donors according to the schedule in the project proposal following specific donor guidelines for this project.

· Guide the project implementation team and follow up the implementation of projects plans inside the area of intervention.

· Coordinate with the logistics department, and ensure all project-related equipment and supplies are procured according to HCS and the specific donor rules for this project and available on site in a timely fashion.

· Coordinate with the finance department to ensure accurate accounting of project finances as well as effective cash-flow.

· Oversee all staff based in the education project, including recruitment, appraisal, management, general well-being, job descriptions, work schedules, discipline etc.

· Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities and NGOs on site, with the objective of raising public awareness of HCS and ensuring good cooperation and partnerships.

· Oversee the effective communication and use of monitoring data and feedback/complaints to improve current education projects and ensure that learning is captured and shared effectively.

· Develop already received proposals from local partners and collect information to support project design.

· Review the received progress reports/authentications from project officers and implementing partners.

· Develop assessments, reports and technical and financial documentation for submission to donors.

· Communicate with media officer to reflect the success stories of the education projects P2.

Successful Candidate

· Minimum 2 years experience from working as a Education Project Manager / Programme Manager in a humanitarian / recovery context (essential)

· Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts (essential)

· Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities (essential)

· Broader understanding of more than one project in the educational or curriculum context (essential)

· Ability to work on own initiative and independently (essential)

· PMP certified (desirable)

· Previous experience/exposure to charity activities within Syria and surrounding countries (desirable)

· Professional fluency in English (essential)

· Professional fluency in Arabic (desirable)

· University Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business administration or relevant discipline (essential)

· Able to travel within Turkey (essential)
