JOB CONTEXT :
Handicap International has been working in the region since 1986 and in Palestine since 1996. An office was open in Jerusalem in 2007 to run the activities in Palestine. Sub-offices have been set-up in Gaza and Ramallah. The situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories has been for decades a succession of conflicts, tensions, war strikes and some more quiet phases. After the last war in Gaza during summer 2014 and uprising in West Bank in late 2015, the situation in Palestine and Israel remain highly tense. 2016 was characterised as a year of intense violence, with deadly incidents on weekly basis.
YOUR MISSION:
As Field Coordinator, you will be working in Ramallah and reporting to the Head of mission in Jerusalem. You will work in close collaboration with the Support Services Coordinator and Deputy Admin and Finance Manager in Jerusalem and Field Coordinator in Gaza. You will also work in very close collaboration with the Regional Coordination Team (RCT) in particular the Regional Operations Coordination (ROC) and the Regional Technical Unit Coordinator (RTUC), but also the Regional Support Services Coordinator (RSSC) and the Regional Finance Coordinator (RFC).
In strong support to and close coordination with the HoM, you will promote and support the best internal functioning of the Ramallah sub-office, its teams and structures at the service of the smooth and quality implementation of the actions and presence of HI in the West Bank.

Strategic development and donors’ collaboration
Communication and coordination
YOUR PROFILE : You have:
- Advanced degree in relevant field (development, humanitarian, disability or related)
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in management positions within international development and/or emergency and post crisis environments
- Strategic managerial and organisational skills
- Strong team and HR management capacities
- Advance strategic communication and writing in English including proposals
- Advanced understanding of various aspects of financial management
- Experience in working with civil society organizations/Partnership management
- Security management
Would be an asset:
- Previous experience in managing in complex environments, with multiple funding contracts, multiple partners and localization.
- Experience in working in the Middle-East and/or understanding of the Palestinian context
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION:
Security and safety conditions in Palestine remain volatile and can quickly evolve. The job holder will have to comply with security and safety guidelines of the organization in the country. In Ramallah, the living conditions are good, with possibilities for extra-professional activities and limited restrictions on movements, depending on the evolution of the situation. Frequent travels to Jerusalem and within the Middle-East region.
CONDITIONS:
Starting date : 15th of March •
Length of the contract: 12 months renewable
Salary from 2757 € (gross) / month regarding the experience of the candidate
Perdiem : 676€ (net)
Insurances : medical health coverage, retirement planning, repatriation
Paid holiday : 25 days per year
R&R : Level 1 : 1 day per month
Status : position open to couples/families
Housing : individual taken in charge by Handicap International
