Baytna Syria was launched in 2013 as a networking, training, and grant-making facility for Syrian civil society organizations, offering support to CSOs based inside Syria and the neighbouring countries.
Baytna Syria is seeking to recruit a Grants Officer to support the Grants team at Baytna Syria

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaises with identified grantees and communities within the area of responsibility to assist with the development of projects and guide the implementation of projects, cooperating closely with the Senior Grants Officer and Field Program Officers (Syria).
- Assists in developing grant proposals and other related documents and assessments needed for funding by Baytna Syria, cooperating closely with the Senior Grants Officer and Field Program Officers (Syria).
- Assists in monitoring grants execution and ensures that it is in line with applicable frameworks; assists in its implementation including baseline data gathering, monitoring and evaluation strategies.
- Assists in facilitating regular communication with grantees, maintains cooperative partnerships between Baytna Syria and the grantees and other possible stakeholders;
- Assists in maintaining the grantees database, including a tracking system that provides frequent updates on fund-flows, reporting requirements, audits, contract deliverables and budget revisions.
- Participates in the annual work planning and budgeting process for the grants program. Assists the Senior Program Manager in the preparation and writing of progress and annual reports, annual work plans, status reports and other documents that may be requested by the Executive Director or any committee tasked with grant making issues.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Key qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in grants or any similar fields.
- Experience in WASH & Shelter sectors is preferable.
- University degrees in business administration, finance, program development, or related fields required.
- Good Knowledge in Project Management in Development (PMD).
- Good command in both Arabic and English Languages.
- Good computer skills especially in MS. Office package.
- Customer Services Oriented and High Communication skills.
- Ability to work with different cultures and back grounds.
