Job Purpose Summary:
The Medical Database Officer will support the Medical Database and Reporting Manager in maintaining medical database for monitoring and reporting purposes. He/she will work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation department, medical team, information management department to ensure quality reports and inputs for the program.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Receive, review, and disseminate weekly health facilities and contact field medical officers and health facility registrars for clarification of any inaccuracies noted,
- Keep updated records of all medical facilities their level of reporting,
- Ensuring that all data is being collected and managed in the (DHIS2),
- Arrange and explain for the trainees, data clerks, related trainings such as District Health Information System (DHIS) Collect, Manage, Visualize and Explore Data,
- Keep tracking of all health related activities in action sites including data related to community based activities and training conducted,
- Collate all information into a draft report for review by the medical data manager,
- Work with health manager to monitor trends in medical data and ensure timely, communication of any issues to the medical team for necessary intervention,
- Act as the focal point for trouble shooting any data related issues at the supported health facilities,
- Maintain weekly and monthly data of medical facilities,
- Assist the medical program officers in sharing information and maintain updated facility,
- Information to assist in decision making internal and external reports donor visits etc.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor in computer sciences or related field of health information systems.
- At least 2 years of experience in reporting, databases, or health information systems.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
- High proficiency in MS Office excellent reporting writing skills.
- Work experience with NGO / health program.
- Have excellent organizational skills ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Work in a dynamic high pressure environment, attention to details, and coordination of multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Have the flexibility and ability to work effectively with various personalities and cultures.
- Must have a valid passport.
