Turkey: Grants Manager (National Staff Only)

Job Purpose Summary:

National Grants Manager will support the International Grants and Reporting Manager in compiling grant proposals, contract modifications, donor communication, reports, as well as a range of regular and ad hoc reports and communication tools used for both internal and external communication. The National Grants Manager will also contribute to supporting training and development of IMC staff and partners to improve and standardize reporting and proposal development.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Grants Management

  • Support the development and drafting of concept notes, full proposals, modification requests, and supporting documents according to the program management tool.
  • Provide assistance in preparation of budgets in coordination with program and finance personnel
  • Organize and support in grants kick off meetings
  • Participate in and support grant review meetings
  • Support the Grants and Reporting manager in tracking program progress on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Support in collating information for proposal development, donor information requests, coordinating inputs from relevant staff
  • Maintain grants filing system for all IMC Turkey grants, including agreements, proposals, revisions, reports, etc.
  • Support program compliance and internal control procedures according to internal and donor regulations
  • Liaise with in-country, regional and headquarters on grant management activities, including ad hoc requests for information and updates

Reporting

  • Support program team and local partners in program design and reporting through the capacity building trainings, development of standardized information and reporting tools
  • Manage information for regular situation analysis (security, political, media, from other agencies/actors), regarding humanitarian needs and data collection from program activities
  • Maintain a donor reporting schedule and share with relevant staff on a timely basis
  • Support the development of communication tools (for internal and external use), including maps, case studies, and infographics

Internal/External Coordination

  • Coordinate with sub-grantees at the field level to support coordination of activities, quality reporting, and capacity building
  • Support information flow from the field, regionally and with headquarters
  • Other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Development and/or in a relevant field of study
  • At least 3 years of experience with an international humanitarian organization
  • Experience writing proposals and managing information related to large-scale emergency response and reporting to donors (OFDA, BPRM, DFID, ECHO, UNHCR, OCHA, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of the Syrian context and the refugee crisis in Turkey
  • Insight into health services, physical rehabilitation, protection and mental health and psychosocial support
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
  • Ability to meaningfully contribute to decision making processes
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to lead and coordinate processes across a number of departments
  • Flexible, able to cope with stressful situations and frustrations
  • Competent in MS Excel, word processing, Power Point, and tools useful in information management and program reporting such as mapping.
  • Fluency in English, with strong written English is a must; Turkish and Arabic are assets.
