The role
The Partnership Capacity Building Coordinator will work closely with the Partnership Manager, as well as the MEAL, technical and program teams to oversee Save the Children partner organizational development and capacity building, including evaluating the progress, conducting full organizational capacity assessment to all Save the Children partners, creating capacity building and organizational development plans for partners and following up on specific support actions with the relevant Save the Children department. This position requires someone who has experience developing training materials and strong facilitation and training skills to be able to provide support in a wide range of areas. The position will in consultation with partners and internal Save the Children departments, develop standard and tailored training packages that meet the needs of partners. Approximately 50% of Save the Children's portfolio in Turkey and Syria is implemented through partners and networks. This is line with Save the Children strategy to strengthen civil society to support a resilient, responsive and sustainable relief and development process for children and their families. The Partnership Capacity Building Coordinator will work with both well-established and new and emerging organizations and networks. A key deliverable will be the development of an Organizational Capacity Development (OCD) Kit, either online or through an offline platform that is accessible and relevant to a broad range of humanitarian and development actors.
Qualifications and experience
Essential
- Bachelor Degree in Development Studies or relevant technical field (e.g. Social/Political Science, Management, Economics, and Engineering).
- Minimum 3 years-experience working with NGOs or in the humanitarian sector
- Experience in managing and implementing programs in humanitarian contexts aimed at building capacity of civil society organizations.
- Experience in oversight and capacity building of local partners
- Knowledge of both programmatic and operational aspects of program
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (required)
- Computer literate (including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to do internet based research
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and discretion with confidential information
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Proven ability to handle challenging work load
Desirable
- Master's Degree in Development Studies or relevant technical field (e.g. Social/Political Science, Management, Economics, and Engineering).
- Background in Save The Children thematic area's (e.g. education, protection, health, nutrition, etc.)
- Excellent training and facilitation skills
- Knowledge of the Syrian context
- Fluency in Arabic and Kurdish
