Context:
The mission of the Organization is to promote, develop, and implement community-based projects in Syria by civil society activists in order to improve the lives of civilians in their communities, mainly inside Syria, empower them and preserve their dignity. Emissa activities and projects are implemented under five programs:
1- Health Program: Primary and secondary healthcare and rehabilitation through clinics, field hospitals, physiotherapy centers.
2- Relief Program: Emergency Response, food Distribution, NFI, Winterization.
3- Livelihood Program: Agriculture, Livestock, and sustainable projects.
4- Education, and PSS Program: Primary and secondary education, Risk Education, PSS, Community Awareness.
5- Wash & Shelter Program: Camps preparation and management, Waste management, WASH projects.

Duties and responsibilities:
The Finance officer will perform the following duties:
Financial and budget management:
· Prepare and maintain project budgets; on a monthly basis prepare Budget versus Actuals including brief commentary on matters identified.
· Oversee the invoices’ payments and coding, making sure that all the payments are properly charged to the project and coded according to the system in place (from a range of sources: salary costs, supplier invoices, expenses claims).
· Coordinate and support budget realignments and annual budget reviews, when relevant.
· Prepare and regularly update spending plans, lead the preparation of forecasts, including for donor reporting.
· Monitoring income from donors and funds transfers.
· Revise and update tools and templates for budget management and donor reporting.
· Conduct regular conciliation of payments.
Donor reporting:
· Produce monthly financial reports to the donors.
· Ensure that financial and narrative reporting meets donor requirements, quality standards and is submitted in compliance with donor reporting deadlines.
· Develop and provide reporting templates to relevant teams, ensure use of consistent templates.
· Ensuring compliance with the donors and Emissa's grant management and financial policy, procedures and regulations.
Grants Administration:
· Maintain tracking systems for grants and other office systems, including inputting raw data into tracking systems (grants database).
· Train staff on tools and templates, and donor regulations, as required.
· Contribute to a positive working environment by being accessible and available to team members.
HQ office Accounting
· Preparing monthly financial reports for the organization
· Following up the projects fund requests
· Coordinate with the projects accountants
Outputs:
· Delivery of the donor’s support of the program’s projects to local beneficiaries on time, within budget and in compliance with all financial requirements.
Education:
· Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
· CMA, CPA is a plus.
Qualifications:
· 3-5 Years experience in finance and accounting.
· Very good knowledge in projects budgeting and financial reporting.
· Experience in working on accounting software (Preferably: QuickBooks).
· Experience in setting up coding structures to support donor reporting.
· Excellent level in Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel.
· Strong organizational skills with proven ability to be flexible and to work well under pressure, to deal with multiple competing priorities and to multi-task, and to manage time effectively.
· Experience in working with NGO's (humanitarian field) or Syrian activists groups.
· Very good level of English language skills.

Strong believer in human rights and values of justice.
Experience in working with volunteers groups.
Proactive with excellent communication skills.
