Management Training, Concern Turkey
Location: Sanliurfa, Turkey
Duration: Maximum one week – one half-day seminar per day
Start Date: Not later than the 1stof August – by mutual agreement.

Introduction and Background
Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organization dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Concern has been working in Turkey since August 2013 and is a registered NGO with the Government of Turkey with its main office in Sanliurfa Province.
Since 2013, Concern has increased its programing areas in terms of locations and number of people, and launched various programs targeting different groups within the Syrian population in Turkey. Concern’s success in the humanitarian sector since 1968 is attributable to its efforts to increase the quality of its services to the most vulnerable populations around the world. As such, managerial capacity with respect to project development and implementation plays an important role in addressing these needs and in increasing service quality. In order to build on its current strengths, Concern, therefore, wishes to engage a trainer or organization to provide project management and development training, specifically in relation to the Project Management for Development Professionals 1 course
Relevance to Organizational Needs
It is to be hoped that the training programme will provide Concern staff with an improved knowledge of the essential principles and practices of project management for development. It should also serve to build capacity in relation to the implementation of development projects and enable staff to make more informed decisions as to the choice and use of appropriate tools to that end.
Scope of Work
Objectives
· Completion of Project Management for Development Professionals 1 course and completion of test for those who wish to take it; participants should receive internationally recognized certificates upon completion of programme
· Staff should have a good knowledge of the essential principles and practices of project management for development
· Staff should be aware of the different stages of launching and implementing development projects and the important tools and considerations applicable to each stage
· Staff should have familiarity with and an ability to use critical project management tools and planning documents
· Staff should have familiarity with available PMD Pro 1 Course guidance and learning materials
Participants’ backgrounds
All staff from officer level to Country Director of Concern Turkey, numbering 45 in total.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
· Degree in business/management or relevant field
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in the management training sector
· Previous experience in management training programme delivery
· Specific experience of the delivery of PMD Pro 1 Course
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Relevant certification where necessary

Documentation and Closing Date for Submissions
Applicants are requested to provide a cover letter outlining their experience, proposed timeframe for course delivery as well as a training agenda; verifiable references to or a sample of relevant previous work should also be attached. Quotations should also cover the cost of post-training exam invigilation.
All documentation should be in English
As Concern will make all arrangements in relation to the provision of a suitable training space, these costs should not be included in the quotation.
Quotations should be for a course complement of 45, including a rate per person in the event of additional trainees or absentees.
