General Description of the Organization:

Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of conflict affected population.

Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering humanitarian and development programmes, Livelihood, Education, and Protection, to enable them to improve their living practices and their sustainability mechanisms.
Orange also collaborates with national and international non-governmental organizations, local initiatives responding to the humanitarian Syrian crisis with capacity development programmes, to be better equipped with the skills they need to prepare and respond to affected population’s needs and to ensure that these communities where we work in are ready for any future disasters.

Job purpose:

Orange’s livelihoods programming aims to build the capacities and assets of vulnerable Syrian and host community individuals to enhance their social and economic self-reliance. Programme activities include; counselling, provision of transferrable skills, referral to vocational skills training, job referrals and/or provision of home-based small business grants.

The Database Assistant is responsible for the set up and maintenance of the information management system at base level. He/she will perform the daily data management of Livelihoods (LVH) activities implemented under DRC LVH funded programs through DRC established tools and systems (shared data storage, daily data management including scoring, updates on attendances to courses, extraction of reports).

The Database Assistant under the Orange’s structure will receive direct technical support from Orange Livelihood Coordinator and MEAL Officer as well as technical guidance from DRC IM Officer and LVH Officer.

Duties, objectives and competencies:

· Set up and maintain the database and information management systems at base level for LVH programs funded under DRC partnership

· Ensure the daily management of DRC LVH funded program through data check, scoring for referrals to available trainings and activities, data entry of beneficiaries‘ attendances, data extraction

· Ensure data consistency and integrity across Orange’s DRC LVH funded program at base level

· Coordinate closely with project staff across Orange‘s projects at base level to ensure their data collection and management needs are met

· Obtain, compile and analyze data on the program output indicators as per output trackers, and disseminate in appropriate formats for improving the programmatic decision making and planning process

· Produce statistical analysis and reports on project data on request.

· Ensure there is provision for data security (including strict data handling and confidentiality protocols), weekly backup and recovery control (all data is retrievable in an emergency).

· Assist with project field monitoring, as required

Additional Duties:

Any other duties as agreed with the Livelihoods Coordinator

Requirements:

· At least 1 year of experience in IT and database management systems (MySQL, MS ACCESS and MSSQL)

· Experience in managing excel databases

· Strong background/experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis

· Demonstrated skills in PC troubleshooting, software and hardware support, networking, data backup, creating data entry forms and generating database reports

· Experience in developing large scale database and web application.

· Experience in NGO

· High-level of knowledge and practice with Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

· Experience in skills development training, or related fields

· An understanding of humanitarian/civil society issues in Turkey and the region

· Experience working with Syrian refugees

· Being proactive.

· Target oriented

· Being a good communicator, both written and spoken.

· Having competent teamwork abilities.

· Having documentation and organizational skills.

· Having analytical thinking abilities.

· Being able to plan technical solutions.

· Being self-motivated.

· Having a competent judgment to inform problems to superiors on time.
