OBJECTIVE

Research and report about the Turkish pharmaceutical regulatory framework, taking into consideration current limitations of the organization. Support the audit of the international pharmacist about Turkish manufacturer’s validation.

MAIN TASKS Research and Update about all details concerning the regulatory framework regarding pharmaceutical supply in Turkey: Importation/Exportation

· A foreign / local Registered NGO can import/export pharmaceuticals? Which conditions are needed?

· Explanation of the DS1 registration and classification of drugs

· Procedure to import drugs into Turkey

· Classification of the drugs and items according to the legal importation restrictions (Narcotic and Psychotropic, medical equipment, sterile material, dangerous material) in Turkey and to Syria

Local Purchase

  1. Ability of foreign / local registered NGO to purchase locally. From which companies (import/export; manufacturers; distributors; private pharmacies) required characteristic of the local partner (Turkish NGO, registered INGO): list of precondition (according to the regulations) an eventual Turkish partner NGO should have to help purchasing (locally and internationally)

• Conditions to purchase locally. (tax number, license, presence of medical activities, …)

• Requirements for storage of local or internationally purchased medicines

• List the registered products in Turkey: check and confirm the data base from MoH

• Overview on the quality of the Turkish Market (harmonization with the EU/USA market)

Medical activity

• Dispensation of drugs to the patients: specific legal frame

  1. Support the audit / visit of the international pharmacist that will be focused on manufactories validation

• Keep the necessary contacts with medical and pharmaceutical authorities and associations in order to achieve the goals of the international pharmacist visit. Start to prepare Turkish data base with the cooperation of mission pharmacists

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

· Essential degree in pharmacy.

· Essential experience related to pharmaceutical national regulatory framework.

· Essential fluent Turkish and English.

· Computer literacy (Outlook, Word and Excel)
