Skills and Education Required

  1. Doctor or nurse
  2. Excellent English skills-- speaking, reading, writing
  3. Arabic language is an advantage but not required
  4. At least 2 years of professional experience
  5. Expert in Global Based Violence GBV
  6. Two years relevant working experience in an NGO
  7. Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet, Email programs
  8. Previous experience in the implementation of Health Information Systems
  9. Organizes work for greater efficiency and accountability
  10. Experience in team management
  11. Good leadership skills
  12. Good Communication and negotiation skills
  13. Patience and understanding
  14. Demonstrates good time management skills

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Medical coordinator you supervise the implementation of all health project and ensure the quality of the medical activities.

You work under the direct responsibility of the General Coordinator.

More specifically you**:**

· Coordinates all phases of health projects -- planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.

· Responsible for ensuring that projects meet international standards and protocols in health and humanitarian aid. These include, WHO protocols, and Interagency Standing Committee guidelines and others.

· Communicates and coordinates regularly with project staff in the field to ensure compliance with the project log frame and agreements with the partner agency.

· Works closely with HIH data manager to ensure timely and accurate project data and donor reporting.

· Is active in sector coordination meetings and activities, and maintains good relationships with other agencies.

· Responsible for training in health care procedures, protocols, and treatments as needed and required by donor.

· Participates in field assessments of new and existing projects.

· Support and operationally manage the medical team

· Responsible for writing project proposals and concept papers in accordance with donor standards and guidelines.

· Maintains project records in an organized and efficient manner.

· Provides timely written reports on project activities reports activities against the stated project objectives and indicators required by the partner and donor.

· Implements monitoring systems for all project activities.

·Participates in regular meetings with project partner(s) for discussion, repor ting, and problem solving.

· Represents Hand in Hand at NGO coordination meetings in the appropriate sector (e.g. Health, Nutrition, WASH, etc.).

· Attend trainings as required by project partner or Hand in Hand management team.

· Provide information about the project to Hand in Hand as required for media presentations or for writing future project proposals.
