Background:
Bihar Relief Organisation (BRO) is an independent humanitarian, non-government and non-profit organisation providing health care, relief and development programs. Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, 2012, BRO is dedicated to address the needs of the affected communities with the available resources and tools to maintain a sustainable and well-established humanitarian channel to reach the vulnerable communities and displaced individual in attempt to provide the basic needs and life-saving assistance.
Overview of Position:
Responsible of transferring personnel to external meeting and training stations, securing logistic needs and delivering the Organization’s equipment for repairing or maintenance.
Reports to: Logistic Officer
Main Responsibilities:
Driving and security
Ensuring his own security and that of his passengers, wearing seat belts at all times, respecting the Highway Code in force in the country:
Ensuring the security of persons or vehicles in the vicinity.
Adjusting his speed according to the state of the road or track,
Informing the Logistic Officer of his movements, from departure through to arrival.
Being responsible for security decisions concerning the vehicle.
Justifying any detours, trips or stops that were not planned by Logistic Manager.
Ensuring the number of people who can be officially carried in the vehicle is respected.
Stowing the vehicles’ loads correctly.
Keeping the vehicle’s logbook up to date,
Cleaning the vehicle for services (interior, exterior and engine) and assisting the Mechanic during services and work.
Maintaining his vehicle in good order (internal and external cleaning)
Carrying out a weekly physical inventory of the equipment in his vehicle.
Immediately informing the Logistic Officer in the event of a mechanical problem.
Immediately informing the Logistic Officer and the local authorities in the event of an accident.
Transport
- Being responsible for the load he transports.
