Role Purpose

The Programs Officer’s main responsibility is to support the programs coordinator(s) and Manager
in overall projects and programs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow-up project planning and management of implementation sector projects.
Identify gaps in the management of projects and supporting the field team in addressing these gaps.
Prepare field reports for projects and assisting in editing.
Provide close support to project Coordinator(s)/manager(s).
Provide support to project includes guidance on project start-up, compliance reporting and documentation requirements and grant life cycle management.
Provide close coordination between main office in Turkey and support offices and colleagues inside Syria.
Attend cluster coordination meetings, when assigned to, to ensure adequate reporting to team on outcomes, and convey recommendations and improvement areas and mechanisms to SEMA.
Support the finance department by coordinating project budget’s as assigned by line manager and coordination with other departments within the organization, where needed.
Conduct regular field visits to make sure all program activities are on time, being managed well and to assess any issues or challenges.
Assist in proposal’s writing.
Any other duties assigned by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Relevant University degree;
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in project management in the humanitarian field;
  • Good knowledge in programs life cycles.
  • Must be able to maintain highest level of confidentiality regarding work-related information and data.
  • Good interpersonal and intercultural skills.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Good in programming Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable

Good command of spoken and written English.
