Those working for this independent organisation do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations. MdM currently works in 44 countries across all continents where it focuses on 4 priority areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction associated with drug use, emergencies and crisis.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the logistics coordinator, you are responsible for the logistics coordination, procurement and security management. You report to the support services and compliance coordinator and you are supervising the coordination logistic officer.
More specifically, the activities are to:
-Manage logistics support and advice the project team on logistics procedures and matters
-Identify and plan the mission purchases through a procurement plan
-Ensure the respect of quality of procurement and respect of delivery deadlines, purchase and stock management procedure
-Design and update a suppliers database for medical and non-medical supplies
-Ensure medical supplies, medical equipment and medical consumables are properly and safely stored
-Ensure the management of equipment and the follow up of maintenances
-Supervise the general follow-up of the mission vehicles and ensure a regular maintenance
-Participate in development, review, implementation and monitoring of MdM’s security measures
-Ensure the respect of the security guideline and the good functioning of the relative tools
-Be responsible for the technical aspects of the risk reduction/mitigation policy and implement contingency measures
-Recruit, train and supervise country’s logistic officers and supply officers
-Support staff in their management duty and conduct supply internal training
-Conduct a comprehensive audit of MdM and its implementing partner’s practices
-Participate in donor reporting
-Ensure the production of monthly inventory of medical and non-medical equipment

Based in Istanbul with regular field visits to Antakya and Izmir

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Languages: English fluent
Arabic/Turkish is an asset
Experience of 4-5 years minimum in humanitarian logistics management
Academic degree in logistics or certification in humanitarian logistics supply chain
Experience in partnership management, coordination and emergency is an asset
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel)
Excellent organisational, training and coaching skills
Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
Capacity to take initiatives, listening and diplomacy skills
Ability to work in participatory manner
