The MEAL Assistant supports the MEAL department and program teams with duties related to monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning across all sectors: health, WASH, NFI, rehabilitation and protection, while working closely with the national MEAL Officer.
MEAL Assistant Job Duties:
Data Entry & Management
· Support medical, rehab, and all other program teams with routine data entry and management
· Develop data entry sheets and other tools/templates for effective data collection, entry and analysis.
· Perform data entry and data cleaning for surveys, assessments, evaluations, etc.
· With support from MEAL Officer, perform basic data analysis
· Maintain record of raw data from assessment and surveys
· Consistently strive to improve data quality across programs and sectors, including by making visits to field sites to monitor data entry, support registrars, and identify gaps in data flow
· Support program teams to complete timely and accurate weekly reports as needed
MEAL Administrative Support
· Assist MEAL department in various administrative tasks
· Occasionally support with debriefing of field assistants and recording/compiling feedback as needed.
· Support MEAL Officer with field assistants as needed, such as preparing documentation and organizing and maintaining their files
· Provide assistance and logistical support with conducting trainings and data collection
· Assist with writing internal and external reports to donors and other agencies
· Assist with translation of reports and data
Miscellaneous
· Support other needs of the MEAL department as they arise
· Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor degree in international relations, social sciences, economics, administration, or other related field
· Fluency in written and spoken Arabic
· Good report writing skills
· Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
· Experience in data collection and analysis via quantitative and qualitative tools surveys preferred
· High proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; experience with Access desirable
· Experience with data management and data analysis software (SPSS, Epi-Info, etc) desirable
· Must have valid passport.
· Experience of working with NGOs highly desirable
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural setting
· Desire to learn, flexibility, willingness to ask questions
· Good time management skills, ability to multi-task and set priorities
· Adherence to IMC Code of Conduct and internationally accepted humanitarian principles
