Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic
The objective:
The ultimate objective of this position is to establish and develop a strong Rehabilitation,
Disabilities and war wounded approach for QUEST health Initiative and Qatar Red Crescent projects and provide technical Advisory to QRC's Rehabilitation teams towards a more advanced response to the needs of Syrian and other vulnerable members in the community.
The Consultant is expected to establish and provide all technical support for QRC's Rehabilitation project, including guiding, updating and develop tools for rehab. activities and interventions, in coordination with head of health departments (based in Gaziantep) and HQ technical focal person. through:
Operational
- Conduct Mapping exercise for rehabilitation activities inside Syria.
- Prepare tools and conduct in-depth needs assessment to design the rehabilitation projects and implementation in proper way.
- Develop a proposal related to the strategy which can be re-tooled and presented to donors including QFFD, UN, donor governments (EU, USAID, DfID and others)
- Represent and participation QRC in technical working groups and team meetings regularly as needed.
- Ensure a harmonized technical message is provided during these working groups and that QRCS and QUEST Initiative speaks in a common voice on technical issue.
- Debriefing and update HoD, HoM, and HQ on weekly basis and as needed.
Any additional duties assigned by the supervisor
Education, Experience & Training
1- Prior experience working in complex emergency context on Rehabilitation -related programming.
2- Advanced degree in Rehabilitation (Master /PhD), or equivalent training/relevant 5-10 years proven practical experience.
3- Experience in culturally sensitive programming
4- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing training materials, SOPs and policies.
5- Fluency and excellent writing skills in English- Arabic language skills greatly preferred.
6- Extensive knowledge in
7- Capacity to work within a multidisciplinary team.
8- Knowledge and considerable experience in training and supervision processes
9- Good communicator, strong listening capacity, open minded, proactive and creative
10- Respectful and inclusive of individual and cultural differences
11- Good analysis and problem-solving capability, and effective reporting writing skills .
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Familiarity with the Syrian conflictual context
Strong analytical skills
Arabic native speaker and fluent in English (speaking and reporting).
Team player.
Good communications skills (written & verbal).
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to handle multi tasks at the same time.
