SRO, as a local organization, works in several locations inside Syria to include Aleppo Raqua and Idlib and in the same context; we would like to emphasize our ability to access too hard to reach areas by other organizations.

Silk Road organization has five offices inside Syria in Menbij, Al-Bab, Ariha, Jarablus,and Tell Abiad and in western rural of Aleppo.

The Partnership &Grants Officer willhelp weave collaborative relations that enable SRO to effectively fulfill its mission and specific objectives. He/she will identify and nurture such relations focusing primarily on funding, program development and communications.He/She will be responsible for searching for available grants and write proposals for funds that are typically provided for specified purposes; he/she also, ensures that funding is used in accordance with the grant requirements. In securing grants for an organization, the officer is expected to ensure his or her organization is eligible and make sure that all grant applications and proposals are submitted in a timely manner. Many funders require reporting by the recipient, which the grant officer also oversees.

*Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing and supporting the grants requirement and implementation for the organization.
  • Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process.
  • Perform relevant research to identify available grant opportunities and evaluate the results.
  • Research for effective and authentic funding opportunities.
  • Oversee if the grants are implemented according to the operational and financial needs of the organization.
  • Supervise the fund raising team to ensure proper coordination of work.
  • Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverable, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities.
  • Oversee if other grant staff (coordinators, writers and administrators) is complying with their job responsibilities.
  • Oversee the job of invoicing, accounting, reporting, and other administrative functions to ensure successful execution of grant process.
  • Prepare financial or budget plans and allocation along with the planning and finance department in accordance with each requirement.
  • Analyze the budget trends and make recommendations for cost control and reduction for various grants.
  • Provide detailed reports to the funders and the board of directors with respect to the organization's progress.
  • Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs.
  • Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly records for all grant related activities.
  • Provide training to the new staff on grants management and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain the day-to-day communication with partners management team and stay in regular contact with partners’ field teams.
  • Act as a focal point for partners’ questions and queries and facilitate the flow of information between partners and other members of the partner support team.
  • Assist with partner capacity assessments and contribute to the drafting of the capacity building plan.
  • Prepare project-specific reporting templates and tools for partners.

Requirement & skills:

  1. University degree.
  2. Fluently in English language.
  3. Excellent project management skills with experience in managing and supervising administrative projects.
  4. Posses excellent organizational skills.
  5. Strong command over written and verbal communication.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  7. Good understanding of the organization's overall strategy and objectives.
  8. Possess good knowledge of planning and strategizing financial and budgeting issues.
  9. Ability to work within a team and provide support to the junior staff.
  10. Ability to perform in cross-functional team approach and job responsibilities.
  11. Experience with basic financial management skills including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting.
  12. A multi-tasker with strong ability to work under pressure.
  13. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
  14. Proficient in using computers with related knowledge of software programs and Internet.
