Baytna Syria was launched in 2013 as a networking, training, and grant-making facility for Syrian civil society organizations, offering support to CSOs based inside Syria and the neighbouring countries.
Baytna Syria’s management is seeking to recruit anExecutive Director (ED) who will be the official representative of Baytna Syria, responsible for the overall direction and administration of all Baytna Syria operations, program and services. The ED is directly accountable to the Board of Directors for effectively performing all responsibilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.Leads, develops and manages the program, provides the vision and leadership for the organization’s policy.
2.Develops and maintains a positive image and positive relations with all stakeholders.
3.Monitors and develops the annual budget for approval by the Board of Directors.
4.Develops, monitors, approves and implements policies and procedures, and ensures that Baytna Syria operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
5.Serves as the final authority for employee relations and personnel matters; has ultimate authority for all hire / fire decisions, compensation and disciplinary actions.
6.Oversees all programs through supervision.
7.Identifies, develops and manages donor and stakeholders relations, fundraising, advocacy and public outreach.
8.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-More than ten years of experience, including at least five years of experience in upper level management, including at least three years of experience in CSO management, preferably in conflict and post conflict settings.
-Minimum Bachelor degree in a study area relevant to civil society such as political science, development studies, humanities, economics, business administration or related fields; post graduate degree is preferred.
-Familiarity with the Syrian conflict, Syrian CSOs and stakeholders; personal awareness and engagement.
-Arabic and English are required, Turkish is an asset.
-Readiness to relocate to assigned location(s)
