Job Title: Human Resources Officer
Division/Department: Support
Reports to: Basmeh & Zeitooneh Country Director of Turkey
Duration of Initial Contract: Full-time/ 12 Months with possibility for extension
Work Location: Gaziantep, TURKEY
Preferable nationality: Syrian Turkish.
Job Summary:
Human Resources Officer will be mainly responsible of HR Policy (development, Implementation, and follow up), Recruitment Process, Legal Framework (Work Permit, Contracting, and compliance with local Law), Coordination, Archiving (HR Filing System, tracking, and follow up), and Reporting.
Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Assisting line managers in understanding and implementing the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Promoting a culture of equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization.
- Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
- Recruiting staff- this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates.
- Establishing policies and procedures regarding working conditions, performance management, disciplinary procedures and coordinating holidays as well as absences.
- Monitor the attendance and absence of Turkey office staff members and coordinate with the administration regarding the necessary procedures to control attendance and absence.
- Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits and undertaking regular salary reviews.
- Administering payroll and maintaining employee records (monthly timesheets) and coordinate with both the finance department and legal firm regarding the monthly payroll.
- Implementing and advising management on stipulations set for by local employment laws.
- Follow up with the organization’s legal firm on the staff legal matters and procedures such as social security registration work permits applications in coordination with the Admin officer.
- Planning, coordinating, and delivering, training for old and new staff members.
- Analyzing the training needs of staff members in collaboration with the respective departmental managers.
- Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves requests for all the project staff.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
Previous work experience in the same field is a must.
3-5 years of experience in related field,
Required Skills:
• Good level of oral and written English and Arabic Language, Turkish is an Asset.
• Experience in humanitarian/recovery context.
• Understanding of the relevant laws and statutory requirements.
• Excellent organizational, management and planning skills.
• Basic employee counselling skills.
• Highly confidential.
• Advanced computer skills, specifically in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Good knowledge of cloud & data sharing applications (Google drive, Dropbox…).
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Team work spirit.
• Ability and willing to work overtime and on weekends (when necessary).
