Job Purpose
The researcher in this job will be responsible of developing the methodology and research tools for Education sector in collaboration with the sector expert. The research under this job will specify the required indicators needed to be showed in the Education Need Assessment that will be produced by the IMU and guarantee the report quality and draft the sectoral technical report.
Key Responsibilities
The researcher will be mainly responsible of:
- § The Educational researcher should visit main actors in the sector to see the available information, missing information, and priorities of research.
- § S/he should specify the indicators required for the educational research.
- § S/he should contribute to the development of the needed tools to collect the appropriate data.
- § S/he should verify that the analysis produced by the IMU matches the setup educational indicators.
- § S/he should draft technical reports for the Educational expert.
- § S/he should contribute in drafting the report and revising it and to ensure its quality and add his/her feedback.
- § S/he should coordinate with strategic advisor to consider governance aspect in the research.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
A.Essential:**
- § S/he shall have a bachelor in the same field / statistic.
- § S/he should have seven (7) years of professional academic experience in Educational research including at least 4 years in the same field.
- § S/he should have 2 years experience in goverment projects.
- § Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
- § familiarity with Syrian context.
- § Expereince in statistical analysis.
- § Expereince in Report writing.
B.Desirable:
- § Additional education in governance and state building will be an asset.
- § Wokring experience in conflict zones.

- § Presenting complex information in a clear fashion, ability to write reports that contain analysis from the available data, providing recommendations based on the conducted research.
- § MS Excel: Advanced level in Excel and other data analysis methods.
- § Humanitarian Standards: Humanitarian standards awareness
- § Sphere Standards: Sphere standards awareness
