**JOB TITLE: Protection Manager
LOCATION: Antakya/Turkey and Remote
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Program Manager

Purpose of the PositionThe Protection Manager is responsible for conducting a range of protection activities, including information provision, and implementation of community-based protection programs and activities. The post holder works in close cooperation and coordination with other team members and reports to the Program Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Undertake site and field visits to raise awareness about and oversee/manage KP community-based protection activities
- Regularly participate in inter-agency protection fora (e.g. protection cluster, child-protection sub-cluster, gender-based violence sub-cluster, relevant task forces, etc.) and ensure that the protection needs of mobile populations, as well as communities affected by mobility, are systematically reported and appropriately addressed through specific and/or joint activities.
- Prepare regular reports covering protection activities. Prepare briefings, statistical/narrative reports, and background information as required including specific information requested by governments and other entities.
- Participate in protection-focused seminars and other meetings.
- Represent the Organization at gatherings of governmental and non-governmental entities, as requested.
- Create and design new initiatives, proposals and project ideas and mobilize individuals and families to participate in activities in accordance with international standards
- Maintain constructive relationships with municipalities, other local government institutions, local NGO partners and other international organizations in coordination with the other team members
- Prepare and maintain in a well-organized manner comprehensive files for each Child protection case, as well as keep a report of information gathered during field visits and in-house meetings
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in the field of migration, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugee assistance and protection;
- Experience in emergency operations and liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities as well as with international institutions;
- Ability to supervise staff and coordinate administrative activities;
- Good level of computer literacy and the ability to draft clearly and concisely;
- Understanding of complex socio-political environments;
- Ability to work under extreme pressure in difficult conditions while maintaining security awareness;
- Ability to report to and work with persons of all nationalities and genders
- Good command of written and spoken English and fluency in Arabic. Turkish an asset.
- Ability to work remotely with an emphasis on constant and clear communicate
WORKS DIRECTLYWITH: Headquarters based staff, field staff, partners, and KP support team.
ACCOUNTABILITY: KP team members are expected to support all efforts towards accountability, specifically to our beneficiaries and to international standards guiding international relief and development work while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of our field projects.
