General Task:
To manage the Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) collected data and to ensure that it flows timely and securely to and from EWARN as well as within.
Job Description:
A.Key Responsibilities:
- To design forms, surveys and line lists, and databases.
- To train and guide field staff on using forms and templates.
- To receive files of reported cases of AFP from the field and Follow up AFP cases reported along with the technical officer.
- To troubleshoot data entry errors and clean data by dealing with missing, duplicates and outliers.
- To apply different methods and procedures to ensure data quality standards.
- To maintain line lists of reported cases.
- To monitor AFP indicators regularly
- To cross-reference active surveillance with passive reporting data and share findings.
- To generate the weekly AFP bulletin based on the regular reported data.
- To develop interactive data visualizations and interpretations using tableau or power BI.
- To prepare training materials related to data and software usage.
- To take part in training conducted to support field staff in regular meetings or sudden events.
- To assure the regular AFP bulletin is published in time through coordination with other colleagues.
- to maintain backups of all files and databases to avoid data loss.
- To generate maps using ArcGIS or QGIS for better representation of data.
- To generate ad-hoc summarization and reports on a weekly basis.
- To support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and EWARN standards.
B.Sub Responsibilities:
- To attend Cluster meetings, present EWARN products there and engage with UN cluster co-leads
- To present EWARN products in professional way in English/Arabic languages in meetings
Note: the above mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
A.Essential:
- Bachelor Degree in IT, computer science or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in information management and technical support.
- Arabic language (four skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing)
- English language (four skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing)
- Decent knowledge in the work of INGO and LNGOs
- Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution and visualization)
- Familiarity with non-profit organizations’ regulations
B.Desirable:
- Master degree in IT, computer science, or related field.
- 5 years of professional experience in information management and technical support.
- Experience in programming
- Working knowledge of public health database applications

- Power BI/Tableau: Decent knowledge of interactive visualization tools. Ability to produce online interactive reports and maps based on collected data.
- PowerPoint: Displays familiarity in creating PowerPoint presentations
- Skype/Skype for Business: Familiarity with advanced Skype options and tools, recording group video, Conducting group trainings
- Kobo/ODK: Ability to build forms and program questionnaires on Kobo, familiarity with Basic options of Kobo, testing tools
- Internet: Gmail, Google

- Mapping programming: QGIS, Arc GIS
